Adult Populations
The IBAO Adult Populations Micro-Credential offers an essential knowledge of adulthood, with a focus on the unique challenges and opportunities that arise beyond childhood. It explores how to assess strengths and needs in a multidimensional way, and how to design meaningful life projects that promote autonomy, social participation, and quality of life. A strong emphasis is placed on the role of staff and caregivers, and on strategies that improve everyday interactions while reducing problematic behaviors through positive and ecological approaches. Attention is also given to psychiatric comorbidities—such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or obsessive-compulsive features—which are common in adults with autism and can significantly affect functioning and well-being. By addressing assessment, intervention, and support strategies in an integrated manner, this program provides participants with a foundation to understand and respond more effectively to the complex realities of adults.
